Most of the data applications listed on this site are intended for beginning and intermediate data users. However, MCDC offers many applications for experienced users. Please note that advanced applications require knowledge of and familiarity with census terminology, census geography, statistical interpretation/analysis, and other considerations.
The MCDC data archive, which includes many national collections as well as Missouri-specific data, is one of the premier sites in the country for accessing census and other public, machine-readable demographic and geographic data.
The data archive stores SAS-format datasets and provides a tool — UExplore — for browsing and selecting datasets. Once an appropriate dataset is found, the Dexter tool provides many filtering and extraction options for the selected dataset. Dexter can produce output data in multiple formats, including HTML tables, PDF, CSV, text, DBF, and SAS.
